Who this is for
This work is for committed couples. Both partners have already decided to stay married and are ready to change how they operate with each other. It is also for individual clients who can pay the cash fee and want the same clinical standard.
I do not work with couples who are unsure about staying married. Counseling here is not used to decide whether to remain together. It is the work you do after that choice has been made.

The 6-session directive
The method is grounded in Gottman, Emotionally Focused Therapy (Sue Johnson), and Minuchin. The work is directive. The aim is to get the relationship back on a workable course in six sessions, in the window where most change occurs.
We talk about the past once so the situation is clear. After that, the sessions stay on present behavior and on the agreement you make with each other. We meet weekly to check that the new operations are being practiced.
By the sixth session, the two of you should be holding yourselves to the changes you named. The issue may be communication, infidelity, or co-parenting. The work does not stay inside the problem. It implements the changes needed to move forward.
Baseline commitment
We start from the agreement that you are both committed to making the marriage work. If that question is still open, this is not the right setting.
