When you're both stretched thin

Between commutes, work, kids, and maybe aging parents who need help, it's easy to go days without a real conversation. Then when you finally do talk, it turns into the same argument you've had a dozen times.

Going over the same fight again is just practicing the problem. Instead, we talk about the past once, then spend the rest of our time on what happens next.

How it works

We follow Brief Directive Marriage Counseling™: six weekly sessions. We talk about the past once, then keep the focus on what you'll do differently.

It's a focused, six-session approach, and I actively guide you toward change. We know what isn't working. Now we put the changes in place. If you're living in the past, you're not building a future. You're just practicing the problem.

Video first, in person if you like

Sessions are by secure video. You both need to be in California during the session, and you can join from the same room or from two places. If you'd like to meet face to face, my office is in Los Gatos.
