Making room for the two of you inside a busy family
Many couples I see are raising kids from earlier relationships, co-parenting with an ex, or juggling stepfamily schedules. The marriage can start to feel like a scheduling problem instead of a partnership.
The whole family matters, and we keep it in view. Still, the work stays on what you two will do differently, starting this week.
How it works
We follow Brief Directive Marriage Counseling™: six weekly sessions. We talk about the past once, then keep the focus on what you'll do differently.
It's a focused, six-session approach, and I actively guide you toward change. We know what isn't working. Now we put the changes in place. If you're living in the past, you're not building a future. You're just practicing the problem.
Video first, in person if you like
Sessions are by secure video. You both need to be in California during the session, and you can join from the same room or from two places. If you'd like to meet face to face, my office is in Los Gatos.
